NUCLEUS FLOCK

NUCLEUS FLOCK

Nucleus Flock is a site-specific installation commissioned for the Nucleus Arts venue at The Halpern Conservancy Building in Rochester and funded by the Halpern Charitable Foundation.

Local artists Holly Chadd and Sharon Cooper were commissioned to invite members of the local creative community to cast a single bird in plaster, with a secret message carved into the back of each one. One hundred and thirty contributions have been made so far, together forming a flock that soars up the central staircase.

With Nucleus’ role to nurture community arts, this artist-lead project brought together members of many local creative groups, including Social Art, Young at Art, Luton Arches, Lego and Art Club as well as established Nucleus Arts studio artists and the Nucleus Arts team.

Nucleus Flock is on display at 15a High Street, Rochester.
