BLACK BRITAIN

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
‘Black Britain’ is an open call exhibition in collaboration with The Black Art Hub CIC, showing in The Halpern Pop to celebrate Black History Month. Artists are invited to interpret and express 'Black Britain' in abstract, non-linear, or structured formats, using their chosen medium to reflect its histories, identities, and futures.
All disciplines are considered, AI art will not be accepted.
Black and/or Black British artists from Medway and Kent are encouraged to submit.
This is a free-to-enter open call, and only successful artists will pay a fee of £20 to participate. The exhibition will be curated by artist Michi Masumi, and a limited number of works will be selected for the show.
Please submit up to two pieces digitally for consideration by midnight on 15th September.
Artwork maximum size: 50cm x 50cm (this must include frame)
You will be notified no later than 18th September.
There will be a 25% commission on sales.

Delivery Date: 30th September 1-4pm or 1st October 10am - 12am to The Halpern Pop, Rochester.
Collection Date: 28th October 2025, 1pm-4pm from The Halpern Pop, Rochester

Collection date: 28th October 2025, 11am - 4pm at Halpern Pop, Rochester.
Entry requirements:
1. Artists need to be 18 or over
2. Entries will be accepted in 2D or 3D medium, including photography and digital art. AI imagery will not be accepted.
3. Artwork supplied must be original and created by the artist(s) named in the application.
4. It is not required to price your work for sale, but it is encouraged.
5. Size: Maximum size 50cm x 50cm or smaller. This must include the frame. Larger work will be rejected.
6. Nucleus Arts will take 25% commission on all sales (20% commission for Nucleus Artists & Creative Associates).
7. The exhibition is free-to-enter and selected artists will pay a £20 fee to participate. Open call submission does not guarantee inclusion in the exhibition.
8. Entry is taken as consent to reproduce entrant’s artwork for publicity purposes.

9. Enter via Nucleus Arts website.
10. Complete the online application form below, attaching one hi-res digital photo per piece.
11. Chosen artists will be required to pay the £20 participation fee to be included in the exhibition. An invoice will be raised for those chosen.
