The Underground Cinema is a pop up cinema programme run by Nucleus Arts in Chatham, Kent. The cinema specialises in screening documentary films that are inspiring and influential.

The Underground Cinema has received funding from Film Hub South East to bring films to a wider audience from the local community.

The name of the cinema was inspired by one of the screens being created in the basement of the Nucleus Arts Hub on Military Road, Chatham. The basement has a Cold War Nuclear Bunker theme and is an immersive art installation.

The name was also influenced by underground movements that resist the norm – because through the documentary films we screen we hope to help motivate people to make a influential difference in their community.

We have two locations in Chatham, please always double check at which location a screening is being held.
