Explore Arts Award 2 Day Course 14th & 15th August 2019

Arts Award Explore aims to enable learners to develop a basic understanding of a range of art forms, artists and arts organisations, to commit to taking part in arts activities and to demonstrate basic communication skills. Learners do this by taking part in different arts activities and recording what inspires them, experiencing the work of artists and arts organisations, creating art work and presenting their exploration to others. They create a personal arts log (portfolio) to record their experiences in a format of their choice.

Explore is an Entry Level 3 Award and is designed for 7-11yrs (Higher Key Stage 2) but open to anyone up to 25yrs. The award can be completed in 2 days at Nucleus Arts Centre, Chatham. At least 5 hours of independent study is can be expected and the award is moderated externally by Arts Award.

Limited availability of 6 spaces for children, accompanied by up to 2 adults. All resources are provided, including an official Arts Award Logbook.

Please note children up to 13 must be accompanied by an adult.  Those over 13 who require additional help must also be accompanied by an adult for the day, as we are unable to provide 1 to 1 support.  Parents and guardians involvement on the day is a vital part of helping them complete their Arts Award.  Young People’s work is moderated by our Arts Award Advisor.  Participants will receive a Nucleus Arts Certificate on the day and upon completion of moderation will receive an official Arts Award certificate, which can be collected or sent from our Centre.

Total Cost of the day: £20 per young person
